Geffen 마법도시 게펜

The city of mages, west of Prontera across the marshes: the Magician Guild, Geffen Tower and its Wizard job change, the inn, the shops and crafters, the Geffenia expedition camped inside the tower since 2025, the two memorial dungeons that start here, the Melon Festival, what lies around it, and the quests it gives. Geffen has no post of its own — this is assembled from the game's files and the notices that say something about the town. Every fact says where it came from.

Geffen is the city of mages. Geffen Tower stands at its centre, the town holds the mages' festival, the Geffen Magic Tournament, from time to time, and the story goes that the legendary city of Geffenia once stood where it does. Client The developers' own telling, from 2025: the elves of Geffenia, after an endless journey, settled this land, and the city they founded is today's Geffen — and a mysterious research goes on, in secret, somewhere in the heart of the tower. 2025 note

Becoming a Magician

A Novice can become a Magician at job level 10. Client Since October 2024 a new character does this at Criatura Academy, where the job change also teaches the job's quest skills, 2024 note so there is no longer a reason to make the trip to Geffen for it. When the Magician arrived in 2018, changing at the guild in Geffen was the only way to learn the quest skill on the spot. 2018 note

The Magician Guild is still in the north-west of town, at geffen 65 176. Inside are the Guild Member who once changed jobs and the Magician Master, whose requests the in-game tips still list. Client Since December 2024 the first-job NPCs in the towns no longer change jobs. 2024 note

The town

The main gate is at the south end. The Kafras, the guides and the service NPCs stand around the south and the middle; Geffen Tower is in the centre.

Services. A Kafra, the town's information board and a request board stand by the south gate, and a second Kafra on the east side; the boards' locations was one of among the first things the notices gave, on kRO Zero's second day. 2017 note The Eden Group's teleporter, a Magic Gear armorer since February 2025, 2025 note and the item mall's door since November 2023 2023 note are all here, and the job supplies vendor at geffen 129 49 has also sold the four kinds of point since September 2018. 2018 note

Headgear. Geffen makes more hats than most towns. Each of these has an in-game recipe; the item's page has what it takes.

Haas, at geffen 161 81, made the Costume Gothic Skull Ribbon from April 2019; 2019 note the game's files no longer place anyone there.

Geffen Tower

The mages' tower at the centre of town. Its top floor is the Magic Guild's; since November 2025 its lower hall is the camp of the Geffenia expedition.

Wizard. A Magician of base level 50 and job level 50 changes to Wizard on the tower's upper floor, by talking to the Magic Guild Official at gef_tower 111 37. Client There is no test any more: since December 2024 a second job change is a conversation with the job's NPC once the levels are reached, and the job's quest skills, Sight Blaster among them, are learned with it. 2024 note The 2018 test — four steps, gemstones, and a separate quest for Sight Blaster — is still in the game's files, and still on the list below, but no longer runs. 2018 note

Sorcerer. Hugin in Prontera sends a Wizard who has reached the third job change here, to Merito at gef_tower 102 34, to find a new path. Four elemental spirits — Agni, Aqua, Ventus and Terra — stand together on the same floor, by the Sorcerer Guild Member and a Point Merchant.

The Geffenia camp. In November 2025 Scholar Yorba said he had found a gate to the Ancient Magic City Geffenia, the forgotten city of the elves, and asked adventurers to stand watch with him. 2025 note 2025 note He stands at the town's south gate, geffen 121 39, and again in the tower's lower hall among the expedition: Engel Howard collects Weapon Souls, Exorcist Daeun sets hunts in the Demon District, Diaris wants its flowers, Explorer Ganaan its beasts, and Beikeran rare collectibles. Geffenia itself will have a guide of its own.

Under the tower is the Geffen Underground Dungeon. Two of the town's quests send you down: the Junior Mage's subjugation, from level 55, and the Tired Man's — he blames the Nightmare below for his sleepless nights — from level 80. Client

Indoors: the inn, the shops and the guilds

Geffen's interiors are one map, geffen_in. The game ships no image of it, so the people inside are listed with their coordinates.

Memorial dungeons

Two of the Traces of the Hero memorial dungeons begin in Geffen.

  • Geffen Night Arena, from April 2020: one-on-one duels in the Geffen colosseum after dark, watched by the city's wealthy. 2020 note Entered through the Grim-Faced Man inside, from level 90. Client

  • Geffen Coin Magic Tournament, from September 2022: you enter Old Geffen and join its Magic Tournament, meeting heroes such as Chaos, Iris and Lydia along the way. 2022 note The Coin Request and Coin Exchange Officers stand together inside, at geffen_in 167 99 and 169 99.

Both will be covered in guides of their own.

Episode 1: the missing mage

Episode 1's second part, in November 2021, has a stop in Geffen. 2021 note The head of Sahario's investigation team had asked the mage Xavier to study a necklace that amplifies magic, and has heard nothing from him since; you go to Geffen Tower to find out what happened.

The Melon Festival

Most springs since 2018, for Family Month in May, Geffen holds a Melon Festival, run by Lavender at geffen 86 35 by the south gate. 2018 note 2026 note Other seasons bring their own visitors: the Happy Egg Festival's Prawoon at geffen 146 203 in March 2018, 2018 note and a cake exchange at geffen 196 133 for Family Month 2026. 2026 note

Around Geffen

  • Geffen Field surrounds the town on every side: the marshes east towards Prontera, the Orc Village and Gypsy Village, and an observatory the town tip calls one of Geffen's sights, on gef_fild07. Client The fields will have a guide of their own.
  • The Geffen Underground Dungeon, under the tower: a guide of its own to come.
  • Mt. Mjolnir is reached through two of the fields, gef_fild00 and gef_fild04.
  • Glast Heim is reached through gef_fild06.
  • Prontera's fields join five of Geffen's on the east.

Quests

Every quest the game's own quest list ties to the town — by where its steps send you, what it links, what it hunts, or its title — grouped by who gives it. Quests given out on Geffen Field are listed here until the fields have their guide.
